Between 13th -24th October 2019, Peter and Paul visited some of the Burundi projects. In a UN poll, Burundi has recently been voted the world's unhappiest country. There is great uncertainty over upcoming elections in 2020.
13th and 14th travelling from UK to Bujumbura.
18th - A visit to the Batwa students, Jean-Baptiste and Marc, who are sitting exams prior to undertaking 7 months of internship before they graduate as medical technicians. They are keen to encourage more children and young people from their community to continue in education. We hope to have sufficient funds to support 2 more Batwa students through university following their graduation.
19th - Paul made a journey to the Congo border to look at a GLO (Great Lakes Outreach) project.
Peter hosted 2 sessions with Nairobi Pentcostal Bible College graduates, Emmanuel and Claver. Emmanuel recently moved back to Burundi having planted a church in Nairobi since graduating. He is awaiting a place to work. Claver is involved in running the FECABu regional Bible Schools and has recently been given the responsibility to build a church, both the people and a place to meet!
2ist Important meeting with the coucil of elders of FECABu and also with Joselyne who runs the AVEC projects, with over 100 small, local community groups for savings and income generation.
